Welcome to Polemology

For centuries, tracing and understanding the reasons and drivers of human conflict has been at the heart of the activity of historians, analysts, statesmen, diplomats, scientists and reporters. Through analysis, video and visual stories, Polemology aims to contribute to the important debates of how actors relate to one another in the domestic and international stages, the causes of human conflict and the tools available to prevent, manage, and transcend it.

Founded in 2017, Polemology is a non-commercial, non-partisan platform that brings readers analysis, insights and perspectives in the areas of international affairs, security and armed conflict. Its guiding principle is to further the understanding of the forces that shape human conflict through a critical, constructive and cultural lens.

Polemology is ancient Greek for the study of war and human conflict. This website was first launched as International Portal and in 2020 the name was changed to Polemology.
